The Chariot

The Chariot

The fact that I pulled this card on my second day seems rather fortuitous. Furthermore, my intent was to discover my future path on my writing journey.

“If you are curious about whether you have what it takes to achieve your aim or complete an important project, the Chariot is a sign you will be successful so long as you keep your focus and remain confident in your abilities.”

This is exactly the kind of answer I was looking for, and here it is provided by the random card draw. Two in a row that indicate what I was already thinking is a unique coincident. But for this year, I’m setting aside my skepticism and believing this is a real sign for my future.

“The Chariot is a card of willpower, determination and strength. You have discovered how to make decisions in alignment with your values with the Lovers card, and now you are taking action on those decisions. When the Chariot appears in a Tarot reading, take it as a sign of encouragement. You have set your objectives and are now channelling your inner power with a fierce dedication to bring them to fruition. When you apply discipline, commitment and willpower to achieve your goals, you will succeed.”

Feedback

After reading the entire card meaning, I’m convinced that my current project is the right one to be working on, and that it will pay off. My professional career has been on a downturn since November, but ups and downs are to be expected in this business. Now I’m confident that this new project will help turn my down into an up, and higher than I’ve ever reached before.

I have several irons in the fire as I try to balance more than just my own writing. Running a full-blown publishing company has turned out to be more work than I initially expected. It’s not just a matter of doubling my workload it’s a matter of balancing freelance workers to ensure the machine keeps turning and the deadlines are hit.

While I’ve never enjoyed management, I do continue to find myself in management positions, and it would appear that running a publishing company is no different. The only plus side is the fact that I appear well suited for the responsibilities. Which basically boils down to me being a leader rather than a boss. I don’t expect more from others than I expect from myself, and I’m always first to start and last to stop.

Action Plan

After taking yesterday off like the cards told me, I’m ready to get back in the office and bang out a chapter or two. Learning to take breaks more frequently than once a month is a lesson, I fear I’ll continue to struggle with, but I’m trying and that’s something. Yesterday was a near perfect day, and it’s all thanks to listening to cards—a foreign idea I’m still coming to terms with, but the results are speaking for themselves.

Two to three hours of drafting and then equal amount of time for editing my new books coming out soon.

2021 is shaping up to be an excellent year! And not just on a professional level.

“If you are curious about whether you have what it takes to achieve your aim or complete an important project, the Chariot is a sign you will be successful so long as you keep your focus and remain confident in your abilities. You need to use your willpower and self-discipline to concentrate on the task at hand.”
