I’m on a roll—three days in a row I’ve exceeded my expectations for progress on the novel. At present I’m two days ahead of schedule. Which is great news, given I’m trying to bank three books before launching the first in the series—allowing myself a runway for future publications.

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know my town flooded. We lost a bridge. Luckily none of our friends or family were affected, but there’re hundreds of people displaced. The flood kept us busy all morning. I haven’t written anything. Today’s going to be another wash. Just as I’ve started to turn my creative process into a habit, Life throws me a curveball. Regardless, I’ll put it behind me and move forward.
Last night as I was in danger of complete burnout. Which lead to me staying up way too late, which meant I also slept in late today. However, taking the extra time to recharge myself clearly payed off! If you’ve been following me you saw I didn’t post until late yesterday, in part from the burnout.
I’m 385% as efficient today as I was in August 2015 when I stated tracking. Even when I started tracking, I’d always been more efficient than my peers around me, but I can’t say how much more efficient. Regardless, 1 hour of work today is equal to 2 hours and 51 minutes of work in 2015. I have every intention to keep tracking and scaling this.
First, we had to set clearly defined, tangible, goals so we would know if we succeeded or failed. We managed an 85% success rate, which I think is the perfect percentage.
